Hello, I am looking for infomation on a certain William Mann, my G.G.Grandfather. He was born in Tewesbury, Gloucester 5.Apr. 1795. His father Nicholas was born 1751, also in Tewesbury. William served in Newry with the (56th Regt of Foot)EssexRegt as a SgtMajor around 1830. He was a cabinetmaker. He died 6.Feb. 1869 aged 79. He was married to a "Jane"in 1829.

What I am after is his marrige details. His children were as follows:

    Robert was born 7 March 1830 in Birr county Offaly, father  William in 56th Regiment mother Jane but mothers surname not recorded, and I was unable to locate a marriage record for William and Jane

  • I seem to recall some maritime records for your ancestor while searching for mine.  It is interesting yours was a cabinet maker as my family also has that profession in their history; however, I have yet to trace which person and where to Ireland they came.

  • My great great grandmother was Martha Anne Mann 1844/45. She had a large family in Dundalk with her husband William Hudson Fenton.
    They had a son Robert(Fenton) too and if I am remembering right, a nephew Robert as well. We must be connected?
