Looking for information regarding

Theresa Bridget Donnelly, born abt 1848 in Keady, Co. Armagh, according to her obituary.

She was in New Orleans, LA, by1867, marrying John Samuel Rice in August 1867.

In addition to her birthplace, her obituary from a Louisiana newspaper states she was 42 years old at the time of her death 15 Dec 1890.  It also states she had been a New Orleans resident for 25 years.

She may have had a sister Rose.  The two sisters Rose (20) and Theresa (18) Donnelly, both from Ireland, are passengers on the SS Pacific arriving New Orleans 15 Nov 1866.  These dates fit her timeline, but there are many Theresa/Bridget Donnelly's arriving through various US ports in the late 1860s.

Any information about a possible family connection in Keady will be deeply appreciated.

Thank you.

I checked the Roots Ireland indexes and could not find a Teresa/Theresa Donnelly baptism around 1848 in the Keady RC records.I did find an 1844 record and an 1850 record for Teresa Donnellys but they were in parishes a good distance away from Keady.

Roots does indicate that there is a gap in the Derrynoose/Keady records from 1838-1845. If your Theresa was actually born earlier than 1848 then possibly her baptism occurred during the "gap" years.

The National Library of Ireland plans to put the RC parish registers online for free searching later this summer. Possibly you can search the Derrynoose/Keady records at that time.
