Hello, I'm trying to link two Gorman families.

1. Patrick Gorman and Mary Hanlon, who bore Patrick (1873-1940 in Dublin), John (1869-1948 in Rhode Island), Mary Kilroy (1871-? Liverpool>Dublin).   Patrick was a master tailor, who married Mary McGeough in Keady in Jan 1897) lived on Main St Keady 1901-1911, moved family to Dublin 1914: wife Mary McGeough (1876-1928 in Dublin), children, Elizabeth, Malachi, Josephine, Maurice and Patrick all born in Keady

2. James Gorman and Margaret Finegan, who bore John Gorman (1860-1933 in Kilkenny), Barney (1864-1949 in Chicago), Michael (1866-?),Stephen (1868-1873), Mary (1870-? Kilkenny).

I suspect that Patrick Gorman is a younger brother, nephew or cousin of James Gorman.    The names Sweeney and Hogan may also occur in James Gorman's ancestors.

Thanks

John

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

One of the ways to go about connecting these families is to see if the names on the baptism records are connected, or indeed witnesses on a marriage record. Have you already tried rootsireland.ie to search for records of the above family and see if witnesses or sponsors are recorded? The easiest way is to set up a database of the information you know and look on rootsireland or familyseach for connecting names between the two.

Let me know what you think!

    Best wishes
