Many Listrakelt families moved to Dover, New Hampshire in the late 1800s, including KEENAN, HUGHES, McCABE, MORGAN, McBENNETT.  All these families lived along the Listarkelt Road next to Listarkelt Lough, just east of Fergort, near an old  place name of Cargy.  In the interests of "reverse genealogy" as this site intends to support, how can I follow these families from 1920 to the present, for the purpose of making contact and visiting? I have traced them back through Derrynoose baptism records, Tithe Applotments, Griffiths Valuation, etc.  Even used the newly available GV annual valuations to trace the lessors/land holders from 1864 up to 1920, but that's still nearly a hundred years back!  How can I move forward? (I need a modern day Derrynoose contact, that's how!)

Thank you,

Karen Skelton (of the KEENAN/HUGHES line)

  • Hi Karen,  couldn't agree more regarding MORGAN's in the area.  .

My ancestors are Alexander MORGAN and Agnes/Ann/Nancy LENNON most likely of Rowan, Derrynoose.
