Looking for information obout the parents of Daniel Currie born 1813/1815 Carrickfergus parents William Currie and Elisabeth Daniel married in Ayrshire Sc otland 1836 information about parents on his death certificate cannot find a marriage or death for either parent would appricate any help.

  • Death registration only started in Ireland in 1864 so if the parents died before that there won’t be a statutory record. The only church to routinely keep burial  records was the Church of Ireland. You don’t say what denomination the parents were but unless they were COI, if they died before 1864 there probably won’t be a record.

    For their marriage, statutory registration of non RC marriages began in 1845. Those records are on-line. However for marriages prior to that you need to know where and when they married, and what denomination. The records are probably not on-line though. PRONI (the public record office) in Belfast has copies of most of the surviving records. A personal visit is required to view them.
