Ballinasloe Horse Fair is held at the beginning of October every year.
It is one of the oldest and largest Horse Fairs in Europe, dating back to the 18th century.
This Fair is one of the most important social and economic events in the life of this town, the second largest in County Galway. Ballinasloe is also renowned for horse and pony riding, show jumping and other equestrian activities which take place throughout the year.
