My great grandmother, Maria Fawcett, born county Wicklow, whose father was Edward Fawcett, migrated to Australia in the 1850s. Information on the web notes that there were Fawcetts who lived in Ballygannon of which there seem to be two, one near Kincoole and the other near Rathdrum. A William Fawcett and his wife from Ballygannon are buried in the churchyard of St Kevin's, Dunganstown. This church does not seem to be very close to either Ballygannon. How would I identify the relevant Ballygannon. Any specific or general information would be appreciated.

Ian:
There are four Ballygannon townlands in Wicklow. Ballygannon Beg and Ballygannon More (which are side by side) are in the civil parish of Dunganstown. The other two as you noted are in Rathdrum and Kilcoole civil parishes.
Maria was baptized in the Killiskey C of I parish. Killiskey civil parish is on the eastern side of Wicklow. Kilcoole civil parish is two parishes to the north of Killiskey, Dunganstown civil parish is further south from Killiskey and Rathdrum is to the west of Dunganstown.
So are you looking for where Maria was from then I would say Killiskey civil parish. If your interest is William Fawcett then he was from one of the two Ballygannon townlands in Dunganstown civil parish.
Let me know if you have further questions.
