My DNA shows a very strong connection to the Dingle Peninsula. I have also heard that there is a pattern of migration of those from this area to the USA in the Springfield, Massachusetts / Hartford, Connecticut region. My Welch (Welsh? Walsh?) ancestors settled in Springfield, Massachusetts, yet I cannot seem to find a place of birth. Does anyone know of a townland that has a concentration of that surname?

Any information is appreciated.

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

There are close to 20 civil parishes which make up the Dingle Peninsula. I looked at the 1852 Griffiths Valuatin head of household listings for some of the parishes and found that Dingle civil parish and Kilmalkedar civil parishes had Walsh records and I'm sure other parishes did also. Can you provide the name and approximate year of birth for your ancestor who left Ireland and we can search for any possible records. Having the names of his/her parents would also be very helpful.
