A. Thomas Wall (b. abt 1791 Fermanagh) married Mary Sheppard (b. Ireland)
Their family were all born in Ireland: Ellen's death certificate states she was born in Tipperary, Ireland.
Another researcher states Jane was born in Tipperary - but no documents
William Wall 1807–1851
Henry Wall 1813–1885
Jane Wall 1816
Ellen Wall 1819–1873
Ann Wall 1821–1879
Thomas Wall 1823–1899
Henry Wall 1826–
Mary Wall
They are in Southwestern Ontario, Canada by the 1851 as their son William dies there.
Hoping to figure out where in Tipperary this family is from as we are planning a trip to Ireland in May 2018.

Hi Deb. . . Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out . . . and to the Town of Roscrea Tipperary . . .
When I first searched " Roots Ireland " . . a paid search site . .
the very first hit . . was to my own town . . ( see attached )
Then I remembered having a book in my house . . which outlines a large pattern of Emigration to Canada between 1818 to 1855 . .
which has the name Sheppard mentioned in many places . . . and in Canada Mrs. Thos.Wall . .appears to be established there in C. 1848 . in Huntly Township Canada
The book in question is . . . " Irish Migrants in the Canadas " ...A New Approach . . . by Bruce Elliott . . . McGiii Univ. 1988.
When I searched Roots for Williams siblings names . . . and dates . . . there is NO hits to any of them . . which is strange . . as you say they were born in Ireland
When I search for the Father ..Thomas... c.1791 (Fermanagh) . . . there is no hit . . .
If . . as you say he was born . . c.1791 . . . then he would only be aged 17 . . when his firstborn was Baptised ???
Henry c. 1813 . . . and then again . . Henry c.1826 . . . would this indicate the Henry 1813 died early . . and was replaced by a brother given the same name . . ???
So Deb . . . for now . . . this all I have for you . . . not much . . but I will delve more into the book to-hand. . .
Sheppard . . the surrname . . is common in this area . . .
For Now . . Cheers . . Eamonn.

Thanks Eamonn! The spelling of Sheppard is unusual in Canada. Not sure if the spelling would be same in Ireland or not.
It appears that Thomas Wall and Mary Sheppard may have been part of the Talbot Settlement in southwestern Ontario.
I have ordered the book you suggested by Bruce Elliott and will check it for Thomas - thank you!
We are staying in Roscrea one night, as a distant uncle of mine worked at Leap Castle and my Kinder branch is from Concully in Laois.

Deb look at the last page on my report/document posted here and you will see Thomas Wall and Mary Sheppard notes, marriage and children born, in Roscrea, Ireland. They came over to Ontario in 1826. I'm hoping Thomas WALL is a brother to my James Wall. Did you go to Ireland last year? Randy Wall (a real Wall of Roscrea, CO Tipperary, Ireland.) My James wall was living in lower ontario which is Ottawa, Ontario and they lived there for a while before Brooke Township in Lampton.

Hi Randy,
Thanks so much for checking back in with me. I did miss your earlier response.
Amazing amount of work you have done on the Wall family! I read with great interest. The records of Thomas Wall marrying Mary Sheppard are exactly when I would have thought they would marry. The birth of William matches the William, eldest son we have records of.
Where it gets a bit shakey is the births for children to a Thomas Wall and Mary Sheppard in Mary in 1813 and Eleanor in 1816 in Corbaly.
Our records show Henry 1813 and Jane 1816...but now that I am looking back to "prove" those dates, the dates are not reliable as vary on different census records. Henry's death reg say he is born in 1818. Census records say 1861 - born 1826; 1871 - born 1826; 1881 - born 1821 and tombstone says 1813 - so not reliable.
Jane is in 1861 census - born 1816; 1871 census - 1810; 1881 census - born 1811. No death cert found as yet. No tombtone found as yet. Death/birth year from a family history write up. I tend to believe the earlier census information, but this may not be correct.
This family has been a brickwall for me. This is my husband's ancestor, but I keep butting in and looking into it as well. The basis for this family is primarily family story, with some census and death records. No dates at all for Thomas Wall and Mary Sheppard.
I am heartened that the spelling of Mary Sheppard is as the family believes - another reason to agree with your hypothesis.
Yes, we did go to Ireland last May - loved it! Even stayed overnight in Roscrea one night! Who knew we might have been so near the Wall/Sheppard family roots!
Do you live in Roscrea?
I am so appreciative of the records you researched - I am so excited that this may be the answer to where they came from!
My husband has done his DNA and it is on Ancestry under WM. Have you done your DNA?

Deb I have done the DNA. We can match it up sometime. What proof do you have that Jane is a brother to my James Wall and Moses Wall.????? A bible or a history of some sort. or an obituary..... I've been looking all my life for something that connects Moses and James for sure. I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota USE. Are you are. When you look at my records from the church you are looking at all the records that survive for Roscrea area dn beyound. This is it. Be happy you have the marriage record of your folks. And three children baptismals. Did all those children survive? Elinor is the saem as Ellen. The folks did not read or write and they wrote bothing down usually. You are lucky you have these records. I'm envious of you. Here's my email, pianomanrcw@gmail.com
I could not do a cut and paste from my email here. I had trouble seeing the small font. Randy Wall (a real Wall)

Hi,
I live in Brooke Township, Ontario and was looking at an old map trying to see who lived on our road prior to our family.
There was a Henry Wall from Ireland listed, says he settled in 1836
