Hello, I am new to this site today, I am researching my ancestors (Kelly/Collery) who I believe originated in the Tubbercurry area. Can someone please let me know which Parish this would come under. Are there any others researching these families? Thomas Kelly born c1800 married Mary Collery b.1810. They emigrated to Liverpool sometime between 1831 and 1841. Their first two sons James and John were born in Tubbercurry 1829-1831. I visited Tubbercurry some years ago but, apart from being made very welcome and having a lovely stay, didn't further my research.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
The civil parish would be Achonry which is a very large civil parish in southeast Co. Sligo. Here is a link to the parish page https://irelandxo.com/ireland/sligo/achonry
Unfortunately, the RC parish records for the area start much later than you need-- around 1859.
Here is a link to the 1858 Griffiths Valuation for Achonry civil parish. https://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/sligo/achonry.htm You will note that there are a good number of Collery records and four Kelly records.
The 1827 Tithe listings for the parish show two Kelly records http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/results.jsp?…
and four Collery records http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/results.jsp?…
You may want to add Thomas and Mary Kelly to our XO Chronicles site https://irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-database

Hello Roger,
Thank you so much for the information you have given to me, I look forward to checking those records I was aware that the Parish Records started so late as I visited the Parish Priest in Tubbercurry when I visited a mumber of years ago and he explained this to me. (Sorry, I just can't recall his name at the moment).
I hope to enter Thomas and Mary to the XO Chronicles site as you suggest, also photographs of portraits of James & John who went to Australia as young men and did very well for themselves. I would just love to know more about the family back in Ireland.
Kind regards,
Pam Gallagher.
