My grandfather, Michael, was born in 1887 in Carrintubber, Glenamaddy District, Galway County. His parents were Patrick and Catherine Miskil. He had 7 siblings and he emigrated to Philadelphia, PA (USA) in 1906, I think. The name in America became Tiernan, but in Ireland it was Tivenan. I would much appreciate any information that anyone is this area might have about the family.

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
The parents married February 5, 1876. Patrick’s surname was shown as Tevnan on the civil record. His father was Thomas and the father of Catherine was Patrick. Patrick Tevanan was 27 and Catherine was 22.
The 1911 census for Carrowntober East townland shows Patrick and Catherine with two unmarried children, John and Ellen.

Patrick died in 1932 and the informant was Ellen Collins https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1932/04878/4319968.pdf
Ellen Tivenan married Thomas Comber in 1915 https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1915/09805/5559941.pdf
No idea if she was later Ellen Collins.
I did not find a death record for Catherine Tivenan. There was a record in 1912 with husband Patrick but the townland was not Carrowntober East.
