Welcome back to Ireland Reaching Out!

I located the 1896 marriage for Robert Teeling and Teresa Sohan. The father of Teresa was John and I included his record in the 1901 census which shows some of Teresa's siblings. I also found Teresa's 1871 civil birth record and her mother was Anne Carney. Not sure how Patrick J. Haren is connected.

According to the information that I have, the children were orphaned in 1899 when Bridget was 2yrs and Anne a couple of months old. So untill December of 1907 they were still in Ireland and living and being raised by someone, a relative I would assume. Now in your 1901 Census at House 10 in Clonagh there is a Patrick Ennis 24yrs  listed as a Farmer and a visitor, The Ennis name comes up here in the U.S. and is somehow connected to these Girls. I also believe that they had a Sister Mollie perhaps older that showed up at a later date 1926in Hoosick Falls, N.Y. Any further research on your part would be greatly appreciated,

The parents are listed in the 1901 census so how were they orphaned in 1899. Robert died in 1902 and Teresa died in 1903 from stomach cancer.

I appoligize for listing the wrong information, I was going by passed on information from here in the States. I don't have acess to these Death records in Ireland. I can see by Teresa's Death record that her Sister Anne Ennis was present at her death, thus the Ennis connection to the Girls. My connection here is that I am trying to establish that the Guardian of these Girls , who came over on the Lucitania in Jan of 1908 and was listed as Bridget,  went to Hoosick Falls, N.Y.and was my Grandmother. So somhow there is an Ennis connection in Cadamstown that may remember this Family and be able to connect them to the Patrick J.Haren and my Bridget Mulligan Family in Ireland. It looks like the Girls were 4 & 6 yrs old when they lost their Father and 5 & 7 yrs old when they lost their Mother. It looks like after thier Mother's Death they stayed in Ireland for about 4 yrs before comming to Hoosick Falls, N.Y.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             I Thank You for your attention in this search,

The two Teeling girls were adopted by P J Haren and his wife, Elizabeth Eninis Haren - my great-grandparents.  On the ship manifest for the Teeling sisters and their female escorts, they listed a P J Ennis in Liverpool as their relative/friend.  P J Haren was listed as person paying for passage. Youngest sister Mollie (Mary) was born in 1902 and came to America in 1924.  She also came to Hoosick Falls NY for a time.  

Anne Ennis and George Ennis are listed as beneficiaries in Theresa Teeling's will.  If Anne was her sister, and thus a Sohan, it may well be that Gerge Ennis is a relation (brother?) to My great-grandmother,  Elizabeth Ennis and George asked her to take in his orphaned nieces.  Tho only the older two girls were adopted which leaves Mollie's whereabouts a mystery. 

Thanks for the links to records!  I suspected the Teelings might lead me to the place where my Ennis ancestors came from.  and perhaps identify more family who remained in Ireland.

Thank you!!!!  I finally have it figured out.  Patrick Joseph Ennis who married Anne Sohan (sister of Theresa Sohan Teeling) and my great-grandmother Elizabeth Ennis are definitely related and most likely brother and sister.  I found a UK incoming passenger list for NYC to Liverpool arriving August 1907.  In 191, Patrick Joseph Ennis is living near Liverpool as a widower.  But his youngest child is a boy named Patrick Harron Ennis.  In honor of my greatgrandfather, I assume.  I think Patrick and Elizabeth came to Liverpool and visited her brother and family. The two older Teeling sisters were likely living with them at the time.  They must have arranged for the Teeling girls passage., and their adult escorts which was your grandmother Steve.  Bridget (Emily) and Anne, and their adult escorts one of which was your grandmother Steve sailed in December 1907 to NYC bound for Hoosick Falls and my grandparents.  I have a souvenier handkerchief and a pipe from the International Exposition in Dublin of 1907.  Patrick and Elizabeth Haren must have visited it on the same trip.  It came from my paternal grandmother, Patrick and Elizabeth's daughter.  All the pieces fit together.

Now i have to determine if the Ennis family were in Cadamstown or nearby.  And what became of the Ennis family in Liverpool.  And Steve, I put my DNA results on Ancestry and on MyHeritage.  I havent seen you yet come up as a match.  Was curious if your grandmother was related to my family.
