I found a record of a Michael McNamara, accompanied by Mary on the ship Powhatan in 1837 arriving in New York.
Would ship records of Irish immigrants be recorded anywhere in Ireland, if the ship sailed from Liverpool?
Thank you.

Hi Pat, Liverpool would have been where the ship sailed from, picking p dropping off mail and passengers on the way to Cork.
always try www.familysearch.org this is the old LDS site. 9th Entry down.
Do you know where he was born or Mary?

Hi Margot,
Thanks for replying. I believe that’s where I found the passenger list with McNamara.
It’s a long story, but I’m hoping these McNamara’s are related to my gggrandmother’s mother. She was a Malone but her mother’s maiden name was McNamara. I don’t have any idea where the Malone’s lived or where the McNamara’s were from. All I know is my gggrandfather, Edward Foley (also, no idea where he was from) married Elizabeth Malone in LaSalle, IL and a witness to her Last Will was a McNamara who was a grandson to a Michael and Mary McNamara that emigrated to NY(Schenectady) and then moved to LaSalle.
Just hoping these three families were somehow connected back in Ireland. If I can find one, I might be able to find them all.
Thanks again for replying.
