Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Here is a link to the 1889 civil marriage record (second record on page). The father of John was Thomas and the father of Margaret was William.
I looked on the subscription site Roots Ireland but did not see a good lead for the baptismal records for John Ryan and Margaret Hayes.

Hi Roger. Thank you so much for that. I was able to link that information to a gravestone in the graveyard in Moyaliffe.
erected by J and P Ryan for their father Thomas Ryan d24.10.1885 and their mother (no name but think Dwyer) d2.6.1876. Their brother Jeremiah d7.4.1876 aged 18 and sister Maryanne d2.5.1874 aged 22.
thinking P is Patrick also. Would love to be directed to any other information for this family if you have anything.
thank you Yvonne MorganYvonne Morgan

Roots Ireland did not have an 1861 John Ryan (father Thomas) baptismal record in Upperchurch. However, there was an 1855 record in Upperchurch. See below. Is it possible John was actually born in 1855.

Hi there. We have John Ryan in the 1901 census living in Moyaliffe (Mealiff) aged 40 with his wife and son and daughter. That would make his birth date 1861. I'm not sure if my brother has found his birth certificate. I will ask him and let you know. Thank you so much for looking though.

I think my calculations are wrong. The John Ryan you have found will be the one I am searching for. Do you have his baptism record? Thank you so much for your help. Yvonne

See below. In my experience, ages for adults in the 1901 census were generally understated.

My brother has John Ryan's Baptism as Oct his parents are Thomas Ryan (abt. 1811) and Mary Dwyer (abt. 1828). They had 9 children. The eldest boy was a Jeremiah Ryan. We are thinking Thomas's father would have likely been a Jeremiah Ryan also? Thanks for your help

Just wondering if there is any further information from this? The dates and names we have are from the family plot in Moyaliffe.

Yvonne:
I've been away for five days. I did locate the John Ryan baptismal record for October 1855 that your brother had found. See below. Holycross parish is just to the east from Upperchurch RC parish. There were eight other children from 1845-1863 and Jeremiah was the oldest son which I agree would likely mean the father of Thomas was Jeremiah if they followed the normal custon but not all families did.

Thank you so much. I believe that is the John Ryan that we belong to. That is the only information we have about him. Is there anything further about him and his parents. I don't have siblings for him and I don't have any information about Mary Dwyer his wife. That is where all our information concludes. I have traced his children and know that Patrick Ryan was Patsys cross Arian, and Matthew Ryan emigrated to Australia. No one has anything going back though. thank you so much for all your help and time with this. Yvonne

Yvonne:
The Upperchurch records start in 1829 and the Holycross records start in 1835. Thomas and Mary likely married 1844 or earlier so they were likely born 1827 or earlier and baptismal records would not be available. I located one marriage record for a Thomas Ryan and Mary Dwyer in Upperchurch but it was in 1836 and I believe a different couple. Both surnames are extremely common in Tipperary.
