Ryan Family of Oughtagh/Tobberoe West (Laurence Ryan/Ellen (Costello) Ryan)

I'm researching my paternal great grandmother's family and seem to have reached a dead-end. I'm wondering if someone associated with this group can assist.

My great-grandmother was Ellen Ryan. She was baptised in Oughtagh. A church baptismal record transcript indicates she was born on February 6, 1881. (Her U.S. immigration documentation indicates February 6, 1883.) He parents were Laurence Ryan (also spelled Royan) and Ellen Costello (also spelled Costelloe). She died on May 27, 1952 in Boston, where she immigrated in 1903. In Boston, she married James Riley (also spelled Reilly), my paternal great grandfather.

Ellen Ryan's death certificate lists Lawrence Ryan and Ellen Costello as her parents. Her marriage certificate lists the same names with slightly different spellings.

I've been told that Ellen Ryan had several siblings, the names of whom correspond with a 1901 Census document. Those siblings were Catherine, Winifred, Thomas, Laurence, and James. A search of birth and baptismal records shows all of these siblings being the children of Laurence Ryan and Ellen Costello of Oughtagh, as well as four others: Mary, Patrick, John and Catherine. (I've been told there were two children named Catherine because to older died young. I have not been able to find any death records.)

The 1901 Census document lists Tobberoe West as the townland where the family resided. Oughlagh is located a very short distance away from Tobberoe West.

I've also been told that my second great-grandmother, Ellen Costello, died of fever. This corresponds with a death record indicating she died in 1897. Again, Oughtagh is listed as the townland, and Laurence Ryan and listed as the informant. Laurence is also listed as a widower in the 1901 Census document.

I don't have any information about when my second great-grandfather, Laurence Ryan, was born, baptised or died, and have not found any documents that provide information in those records. I also don't know where he was buried.

I've also been trying to locate the place where my second great-grandmother, Ellen Costello, was buried. I've attempted to contact the cartakers of burial grounds managed by the Galway City Counil, including Ballynakill (Glinsk), to no avail. I've also been unsuccessful in identifying any other burial grounds in the area.

I'm wondering if anyone can assist in locating additional birth, death and burial information about Laurence Ryan and Ellen Costello. And, by extension, their parents. Identifying the next generation of great grandparents could open up a number of different sources for me, including Griffith's Valuation.

I'd appreciate any information, leads, or throughts.
