Hello, I joined this group awhile ago, and see that it's grown a little. I am researching the Thomas Ronayne/Bridget Sheehan family of Leperstown, Waterford.
Thomas is one of 9 children. I am trying to identify his other siblings. Confirmed are John Ronayne B abt 1811 who went to Canada ( I have DNA matches to this family)and Richard Ronayne who married Ellen Sheehan. (I have DNA matches to descendants of this family)The father of these 9 children is likely John Ronayne who came to the area from??? in 1812.
Thomas had 6 children. Margaret married John Flynn they lived in Dublin and Leperstown. They had several children. ( I have DNA matches to their descendants)
Ellen married Patrick Murphy and the had no children'
James married Mary Morrissey and they had no children, then he married Alice Phelan they had no children
Catherine "Kate" never married
Patrick and John I cannot find anything about them other than their baptisms. It would be great to locate anything about them.
My 2x great grandfather is named Thomas Ronayne he was born in 1836 and says his uncle is John Ronayne who went to Canada. He went back to Ireland in 1906 to visit family. His death certificate says his father was Thomas Ronayne. I am trying to determine who his father was. I do not have enough information to confirm that Thomas is his father, but I do know he is one of those 9 children.
Please let me know if you have any information that could help.
Thanks -Jeanine Ronan Sauerwein

Hi Jeanine,
This is a long time later.
I've just read the book "Leaving Leperstown" by Catherine Floe. Have you read through her account of the Sheehan's in Leperstown?
Might be some clues in that!
