I have information about Richard Star (1826-1852), who was assistant to Michael Weddick, the master of the North Dublin Union workhouse from 1847 to 1852. I want to find out more about the workhouse, and some time in the past year I read a review of a new book (may be 2023) dealing specifically with the South and North Dublin Unions during the time of the Famine. Unfortunately, I didn’t make a note of the author/title/publisher of this book. Can anyone help me find it? Thanks. Paul Star, NZ.

Hi Paul,
I will see if I can find the name of the book you are looking for. In the meantime, here is a link to an interesting website on the North Dublin Union.
