Looking for any information on Rev Michael Hanly who is listed in Griffiths as being in Cloonavery and Ardanaffrin. I have his probate record which was carried out by his sister Bridget Gallagher nee Hanly. For information I believe their parents may have been John Hanley and Ellen McMahon and that there may have been a brother Luke as well. Luke was born circa 1803 and I think the family had links to Cloontuskert and possibly County Westmeath.
Thank you for any help you are able to offer. Ljay

Ljay,
I attach Tithe records for 1838 for a Patk (Patrick) Hanly in the townlands of Ardanaffrin and Cloonavery. Could this Patrick Hanly be the father or other relative of Rev. Michael Hanly?
I have searched Subscription site www.findmypast.ie and www.rootsireland.ie and archive newspapers for County Roscommon for a Rev. Michael Hanly with negative results.
It is possible that he served in some other diocese or overseas.
Wikitree has a reference to this man with a profile on February 7th 2023.
I suggest that you contact the Secretary of the Diocese of Elphin.

McCoy
