Hello, 

I am researching the family of Edmund Flavin of Waterford. His son Patrick Daniel Flavin was born in 1837 in Waterford and married Bridget Marie Fitzgerald there. They immigrated to the US living in Buffalo NY and then settling in Kansas. Both Patrick and Bridget died in Kansas in 1902. They were survived by three children. My DNA shows that I am related to the children of Patrick and Bridget. Their grandchildren have been very helpful in this research but we are unable to trace any further back than Edmund. I can fill you in on the Flavins from Patrick forward if someone is working on that tree. Also there may be a tie to Flavins who live in Youghal today. I would love to be in contact with someone in Ireland who may be working on these lines. Thank you so much.

    I searched the subscription site Roots Ireland and was not able to locate an 1837 baptismal record for Patrick or his church marriage record to Catherine Fitzgerald. Do you have Patrick's baptismal record or is the 1837 based on family information? There are at least six RC parishes in Co. Waterford which have record starting later than 1837.

    I apologize for my poorly worded posting. Patrick Daniel Flavin was born in November of 1839 in Waterford. This information is from his marriage certificate to Bridget Fitzgerald in Taunton, Mass, USA and several census. They were married on July 16th of 1869.  I do not have any baptismal information and this info is from general family lore. Bridget Fitzgerald was the daughter of James Fitzgerald of Waterford. She was born in May of 1845 again this is from marriage records and US censuses. Whether they knew each other from Waterford and met again in Taunton or came to the US together I have not been able to prove. They lived in Buffalo NY for a while and then moved to Kansas where they farmed and raised their family. They died there, Patrick in October of 1902 and Bridget in May of 1902.

    I don't know if this makes my request easier or more complicated. Patrick was the son of Edmund Flavin and Anastasia Lennon. Anastasia married a second man, Edmund Walsh and had several more children in Waterford. I am trying to discover what ever happened to Edmund Flavin.

    Still can't find a baptismal record for Patrick. I did find two possible leads for Bridget Fitzgerald. See below. Also, did not locate any baptismal records for children of Edmund Walsh and Anastasia Lennon.
