Hi Patricia, that looks like it could well be the correct information as I have been told he was born in January, on his obituary it says he started out his life as a fisherman and then became a boatman for the coastguard before serving in the boer war, and dying near Fishguard in Wales. How would I go about finding his parents marriage and other children, what areas are around there that may have close proximity, I have been told that Island Taggart has a connection and that a family photo appears of Kate Moran from Island Taggart, whose father I think is John Moran.

If he fought in the Boer War, there would be information about his service in British army records.

You could search for parents' marriage at the paid website rootsireland.ie. Also for siblings.

Did he marry? His father's name should be on the marriage registration. Next of kin may be on a war record if it survives. 

Have you found him on a cenus anywhere? He may have been away in the army for 1901 census. 

What about coastguard records?

If Peter's parents married in Ireland after 1864 the marriage should be on the free Irish Genealogy website. If either spouse was Protestant, marriage registrations began 1845.
