I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland and located the marriage. Roots Ireland transcribed Elizabeth's surname as Darcey which is more likely than Dressy. The NLI parish register for Ballycallan starts in 1845 https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0969 so I don't have access to the actual 1841 entry. The parish must have found earlier records and provided them to the local Kilkenny genealogy center and in turn the records were provided to Roots Ireland. In fact, Roots Ireland has records back to 1821. You will note that Patrick is listed as living in Ballycallan which is in Kilkenny on the border with South Tipperary. 

Civil registration of marriages started in 1864 for RC marriages so only a church record is available.

Many Thanks.  I have always had Elizabeth as a Darcy (without the 'e') but recently she has been identified as Dressey on Victorian BDM. On Patrick's death certificate  (1 Jan, 1884) the way it is written it could be either.   It is unfortunate that on Elizabeth's death certificate (24 Jan 1889) her mainden name is 'unknown' as is father and mother column, where born, and if deceased was married and children - all unknown.  Which poses more questions as Patrick and Elizabeth had 3 children.  Mary Agnes (for whom Victoria BDM say there is no record of her birth; William Frances Paul Hyland who married Clara Murray and although BDM say there is no record of his birth his marrage certificate states his mother is Elizabeth Darcey and his father Patrick is a station manager. Third child, Josephine Bridget -  once again there is no record of birth but I do have a copy of baptism which "is a certified copy of an entry kept in the office of the Government Statist". However there is no maiden name - parents referred to as Patrick and Ellen.  When she married Mathew Clark her mother's name is written the clearest of all documents so far - Darcy.  Once again many thanks I will change Elizabeth's name back to Darcy and write to the Victorian BDM and advise them that they appear to have made a mistake with the transcription.  Looking at the passenger list for the Forth it does state that Patrick was born in Kilkenny - contrary to what is on his death certificate. So I will go with Kilkenny and see if I can find his birth ,as I have his father as William and his mother as Mary Neil.  Once again - many thanks.
