Hello: I am searching for information linking Patrick(Padraic/Padraig) (d.1872) and Margaret(Margaret Hogan/Hagen McCormick (d. 1909) to Ireland. My McCormick's settled mostly in the Hutchinson/Sumter/Tacoma/Litchfield McLeod County, (neighbors of Fallon family) area of Minnesota after they met/married in approximately 1854 in New Jersey. First child Mary Ellen b.1857 in New Jersey. The remaining children born in Minnesota. My Great Grandfather was Robert McCormick b. 1867 d. 1934 in Minnesota. He and wife Mary Jane Patterson lived in Macoun Saskatchewan Canada(raised horses buried their children maybe on Johnson farm?). My Grandfather Charles Robert b. 1909(maybe Canada) baptized in Donnybrook North Dakota (dual citizenship)d. 1984 in St. Paul Minnesota.
Many Thanks!

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Both McCormick and Hogan were very common surnames in Ireland in the mid-19th century. We would need the parents names for Patrick and Margaret in order to locate a possible baptismal record. Since Margaret died later in 1909, her death record may show parents names.
You may want to add Patrick and Margaret's story to our XO Chronicles site and maybe someone will see a connection. https://www.irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-dat…
Have you considered DNA testing?

Hi Beth, my name is Tim McCormick - I grew up in Hutchinson, MN and know a bit about the McCormick family history. I don't know much about Margarat Hagen, although I went to school with a Hagen, and know the Hagen family has a presence in and around Hutchinson. Here's what I came up with. I believe it's fairly accurate, Part of the following family history includes my Grandmother's geneaology - which includes the Fallon's you mentioned in your post.
Great, Great Grandpa McCormick immigrated to the US from a small village in Northeastern County Galway called Lissavruggy Village, in the parish of Killian. He was a tenant farmer to the local Landlord, Honorable Martin Ffarr. His parents were Michael McCormick and Bridget Kelly. His siblings were Anne, Hannah (twins) Michael and James. On the boat over, Patrick's sister Anne married Michael Madden. The Maddens were from the same area in Ireland. And settled in and around Hutchinson. Great Grandpa James McCormick (son of Patrick and Margaret) had a 240 acre farm south of Hutchinson near Brownton. Mike Madden's farm was next door. Grandpa McCormick's Dad, James, married Mary Carrigan, whose family, the Carrigan's and Hartney's were also from Ireland, in and around Tipperary. It's very possible the Carrigan's and Hartney's were friends/acquaintances back in Ireland. Part of Grandma McCormick's family (McRaith's and Casey's) came from Ballyporreen, Tipperaray. The other side of Grandma McCormick's family (Fallon's and Connelly's) were from Athlone, on the border of County Westmeath and Roscommon.
