Hi,
I am visiting Ireland next month and looking for connections to the O'Connell 's related to my grandmother and great grandparents. I haven't been able to confirm direct connection from my searches on Ancestry, and other sites, etc.
Grandmother - Bridget O'Connell
Great Grandmother - Bridget Shanahan
Great Grandfather - John O'Connell
Possible connection to Lixnaw, County Kerry or Cloghercannon.
Grandmother immigrated to America in 1910. I only knew she came from Tralee.
If you have recommendations on some other steps to take in my research, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Eileen

Eileen:
If you have not done so already, please fill out the attached form regarding your trip to Ireland. https://www.irelandxo.com/meet-and-greet
The National Archives census web site has been down for two days so we can't look for 1901 census records for the family.
Can you provide Bridget's year of birth and maybe we can locate a civil birth record?
Also, there is no Cloghercannon townland in Kerry. There is a Carrigcannon townland in Kilfeighny civil parish which is in the general area of your interest.

Eileen,
I believe Cloghercannon is another name for the townland of Gransha.
I hope this helps.

Eileen, Cloghercannon is near Abbeydorney in Co Kerry, very close to Lixnaw. If you let me know when you are coming we can meet up if you would like to discuss the area.
