I'm trying to track down some new information about my ancestor in the Nelson family.

William Charles Nelson was born 9 December 1833.  The details I had been given were for Camus, Tyrone, so I've been focusing on the parish of Camus in County Tyrone with zero luck.  

However, I've stumbled across another birth record for him that lists "Camus, Galway, Tyrone," and his father as Charles.  

On 10 November 1856 he married Catherine Duggan in Dublin, and the marriage details I've found list his father as being George.

I'm having trouble making sense of the reference "Camus, Galway, Tyrone", or why he has two different father names listed.  Can I assume George might be his step-father?  Unfortunately George's surname is not recorded.

Any insight would be appreciated.

    Attached is his parish marriage record that shows his father is George Nelson, a weaver. Both William and Catherine lived at 141 Townsend St., he was a sergeant in H M 95 RG, her father is Michael Duggan, a farmer. They were married in St. Mark parish Church of Ireland.

    There are three places called Camus in Galway, one in the east near the Shannon south of Eyrecourt, and two in the wast that are close to each other (Camus Eighter and Camus Oughter). Maybe Tyrone is a way to distinguish between them? Just a thought!
