James Murphy (b.1838 in Cloughoola, Derrybrien, Co., Galway) married to Mary Tuohy (b. 1849 in Knockauncarragh Woodford, Co., Galway) in Portumna in 1869. James and Mary are my great-great grandparents. Mary's parents were Patrick & Catherine (Slattery) Tuohy. I hope to find descendants of the Murphy's and Tuohy's.
I don't know much about James Murphy and his family, but Mary was one of 6 children (if my count is correct). All of Mary's siblings, including Mary, left Ireland after 1870. Some went to the US (PA & Chicago) while at least two of her sisters went to Australia. Patrick and Catherine, from what I can find, died around 1891 (in Ireland).
I'm heading to Ireland next summer so i'm hoping to meet some cousins!
