I am looking for information on Michael Mullaney born about 1819 in County Roscommon. The following is the information I know:
Michael Mullaney married Eleanor Lavin on 6 April 1837 in Killukun and Ballinameen, County Roscommon and they had a son John Mullaney baptised on 4 May 1838 (sponsors John Tansy, Eleanor Tansy).
In the 1851 census of Salford, England, Michael Mullaney (aged 32 years, a tailor) and John Mullaney (aged 12 years) were lodging in a house in Salford.
On 26 May 1851 Michael Mullaney (a 32 year old widower, tailor) married Margaret Smith (a 16 year old spinster)..Michael Mullaney named his father as Michael Mullaney, a tailor. Margaret Smith named her father as James Smith, a pensioner.
In the 1861 census of Salford, England, Michael (aged 44 years born in Roscommon, Ireland) and Margaret (aged 28 years born in Sligo, Ireland) and their children, Mary Mullaney (aged 6 years born in Salford, England) and Thomas Mullaney (aged 2 years born in Sligo, Ireland).
In the 1871 census the family have moved to Blackburn, England. Michael (aged 54 years, a tailor born in Ireland), Margaret (aged 36 years born in Ireland) and their children Mary Mullaney (aged 17 years born in Salford, England), Edward Mullaney (aged 9 years born in Salford, England) and Bridget Mullaney (aged 5 years born in Ireland).
Any information about the Mullaney family would be greatly appreciated.

Chris:
The subscription site Roots Ireland has an October 2 1818 Michael Mullanny baptismal record in the Killukin/Croghan RC parish records. Father was Robert Mullanny mother Catherine Moren (as transcribed). There was no Eleanor Lavin Baptismal record in Croghan/Killukin records around 1818-1819 but there was an Eleanor Lavan baptismal record in the parish of Aughrim just to the south of Croghan/Killukin. Date was May 26 1819. Father John Lavan and mother Joan Healy.
Both of these records appear to be good leads for Michael and Eleanor.

Thanks for this Roger. Unfortunately the Michael Mullaney baptism in the Killukin parish records is not the correct one. On his marriage certificate in 1851 Michael named his father as Michael Mullaney, a tailor. The information on Eleanor Lavin is interesting and completes a part of the jigsaw, however I am interested in Michael's second wife Margaret Smith born in Sligo.
Thank you for your reply
