Hello~ I am looking for the birth and death registrations for my 3xGG parents.
MORGAN RAHILLY was born Abt 1788, possibly in Castletownbere, Cork; and died POSSIBLY in 1868 in Castletown Bearhaven and
MARGARET MARY COUGHLAN. Mary Coughlan was b. Abt 1810 in Schull East, Ballydehob, Cork. Hopefully, the birth records will tell me their parents names, and possibly their siblings. (I am positive of the parish being Schull East).
I located the marriage registration for Morgan and Margaret - married 14 Sep 1830, Schull East, Cork; Witnesses Denis Holland and Timothy Sullivan (attached)
Morgan and Margaret had 5 daughters, each baptized at Schull East Parish (Catherine b: 1831; Honora b: 1834; Mary b: 1836; Margaret Mary b: 1837 and Mary b: 1850. I have birth and baptismal records for the 5 daughters, but do NOT have their death records or marriage records. (HONORA RAHILLY is my 2x GGM married to Maurice Stack (b 1927 Listowel, Kerry; d: 1888, Cork) and I have attached her baptismal record from Schull East also for your reference..
Morgan was known to be a farmer and possibly also a miner at different times. I found numerous Griffiths Land Valuation records that POSSIBLY relate to our Morgan Rahilly in various areas Castlebere, Ballydonegan, Bere Island, Deenish, Island, but am uncertain if I have the correct Morgan Rahilly.
Family history indicates that Morgan moved the family from Ballydehob area to Ballinspittle, near Kinsale during the famine. I do not know what parish they went to, or where they may have lived.
I am hoping that if you can help me identify the parents and possibly siblings of Morgan Rahilly and his wife Margaret Mary Coughlan, it would open new avenues of research for us.
I have a family tree on ancestry.com (Lois Marie Ley Mathews Tree)
My husband and I will be visiting Ireland May 12-25 and hope to visit the burial sites of our ancestors and to walk the land where they may have lived.
Thank you sincerely for this exceptionally generous and helpful service. I've hit a brick wall, so your assistance is much appreciated.

In the tithe applotment books in 1827, a Morgan Rahilly was living in Ballynakilla townland in the parish of Kilcatherine, Co. Cork.

I hope this is helpful.

Thank you, Patricia, for sending the link. I had found this record and want so much to assume I have the correct Morgan Rahilly. If so, I noticed that on the same document, a Mick Rahilly and Peter Rahilly are also listed leasing land nearby. Possibly brothers? It's a clue!
I also found a Petty Session record 16 Sep 1845 wherein Morgan and PEGGY Rahilly (assuming that is Margaret Coughlan, his wife!) are complaintants in a case filed against a James Daniel Ownly. The complaint was filed in Castlebere Court and the Rahilly's resided in Ballydonogan at the time.
Since I do not have birth records or a definitive death record for either Morgan or his wife Margaret, I was hoping there might be a local family of Rahilly's in the area that might have antecdotal information that would help.
I am still digging!!!
Thanks again for your kindness, Patricia.
