My great grandfather Michael Flaherty born 1820 in Doonass  (Dunash as per his tombstone), died in Merlin, Ontario, Canada in 1902. Was married to Bridget Ryan and they emigrated in 1845 or 1847. They farmed at Lot 3, Concession 10, Raleigh Twp., Kent County, Ontario. Found a Michael Flaherty in Tithe Applotment Books in parish of Kiltenanlea in 1824 along with Wm. Barry, Michael Burke, and Thos Quain (possibly Quinn?) at Knockanroe Townland. Not sure what the relationship is between this Michael Flaherty and mine. I wonder if they lived on the estate of Sir Hugh Dillon Massy
