Maurice Power was my 2x ggrandfather. He left County Waterford for Newfoundland in early 1800`s with his brother William and father Maurice. Only information I have is from William Power obit: died 1881 Harbour Grace, Newfoundland. Born 1794 Arramore, County Waterford. Would there be catholic records for Arramore for 1794? Many thanks!

The closest placename match I can think of in Co. Waterford for 'Arramore' would be Ardmore, which is the name of a town, civil parish and also a Catholic Parish on the south west coast of Co. Waterford. Unfortunately there are very few Catholic registers here that go back to the 1700s, in the case of Ardmore's parish the baptism registers go back to 1823, marriage records to 1826.
