  • Jon:

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

I located a Murphy family in the 1901 census. The Head of household was Nora/Honoria Murphy. Was she the wife or second wife of Andrew? I noticed that the oldest grandson was named Andrew after his grandfather (presumably). How does Seragh Murphy fit in to the family?

  • Nora was the wife of Andrew and Seargh was the Mother of Andrew as best as I'm able to determine.

  • Jon, no help with your Murphy line, but I have Mason's from Ballybane/Booleybane area. St Nicholas Parish?? Ann Mason married Peter McCoy in Ahascragh 26 Sep 1824. A son Thomas is born 1832 in Ballinasloe, Galway. I know nothing of Ann's family. I have done Dna testing with Ancestry!
