Hi
My GGG Mary Minihan born 1813, Father James Minihan and Mother Margaret Geran. Which catholic church would she have been baptised? The parish is Hospital and Herbertstown. Thanks David Brown

David:
St. John the Baptist is the name of the parish. Current church goes back to 1852. This writeup indicates there was an earlier chapel on the site.

David:
The current church should have the books covering 1813. Here is a link https://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000632730#page/22/mode/1up to the actual page containing the record for Mary Minahan (right hand side). She had at least three siblings: Margaret 1814 Ellen 1817 Patrick 1820

Hi Roger
Would you be able to find the baptismal record or marriage record for James Minihan and Margaret Geran, they are listed at the parents of Mary Minihan and siblings.
Thanks
David

David:
Hospital RC records start in 1810 and marriages in 1812. I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland and did not find a marriage record for James and Margaret. There were no Margaret Geran baptismal records anywhere in Co. Limerick in the late 1700s. There were three James Minahan baptismal records in 1776 1778 1784. The church was St. Mary's in Limerick city/ No way to confirm if one of these records is for your ancestor.
