My 3xg grandmother was Mary Fogarty b.circa 1780 and married to Richard Hennessy b. circa 1785. Richard was transported to Australia in 1822 on "Mangles". Three of her children were also transported. Maurice in 1823 on "Castle Forbes". William in 1829 on "Larkins". Mary in 1829 on "Asia". Al were from Clonmel. I found a burial record for Mary Hennessy. "Born 1780. Died 1865. Aged 85. Registry Year 1865. Registry Year and Quarter 1865. Registry District Thurles. County Tipperary. Country Ireland." Is there some way to confirm that this is my ancestor. My sister is going to Ireland later this year and wants to visit our ggg grandmother's grave if possible. I checked the records of of 6 cemeteries in Thurles (St Mary's, St Patrick's, Ursuline, Rahealty, Killian and Cathedral of Assumption) but could not find a grave. Can anyone help? Thanks, Norbert Hennessy Eidsvold Qld Australia.

Norbert: Since the family was from Clonmel in South Tipperary, I would think that Mary Fogarty Hennessy would have stayed in the Clonmel area. The death record you located was for a Mary Hennessy who lived in the area around Holycross (about four miles from Thurles). Holycross is about 28 miles northwest of Clonmel. The informant for the death of Mary Hennessy on the record you located had an informant named Gillian Hennessy. Likely the record you found was for a different Mary Hennessy. Roger McDonnell
