I found a marriage record on the subscription site Roots Ireland (see below). I assume this is the couple mentioned in your message? Since the marriage was in the Balla RC church, I presume Margaret was baptized in that parish (which is no certainty). Balla baptismal records start in 1837 and the subscription site Roots Ireland has Margaret Hughes baptismal records in 1837, 1838 and 1840. The three recordd are below but there is no way to know which (if any) may be your ancestor

My 4x gr grandfather was Robert Loftus, St Pauls Dublin parish registry, married to Eleanor (maiden name unk).. His daughter, Margaret 1801 -  1875  b in Carlow, Old Leighlan, married Henry Watchorn. they emigrated to Quebec (Lower Canada) following the birth of their first son.  I do not know anything more about the Loftus family
