I have a new discovery in my tree: I have Ann (Nancy) Maliff b. abt 1798 - she is the daughter of Thomas Maliff and Nancy (possibly Ann) LNU. Her brother Michael Maliff is noted on his American naturalization papers as b. 28 Sep 1793 in Longford, Ireland. I'm not having much luck with the Church records so far.
He arrived in Boston, MA 15 October 1842 at the age of 50. His wife was Mary McCormick, I don't have any dates for her yet, they had at least 1 son - John Maliff b. 24 Jun 1825 (presumably in Longford).
Anything you can find would be wonderful, in the meantime I'll keep looking as well.
Thanks, Mary Ellen Curran

Hi Mary
I searched www.rootsireland.ie/ for Maliffs in Longford but this is the only one that came up I'm afraid:
Name:Ann MaliffDate of Birth:
Date of Baptism:10-Nov-1843Address:Not RecordedParish/District:EDGEWORTHSTOWNGender:FemaleCountyCo. Longford
Denomination:Roman Catholic
Father:James MaliffMother:Margaret GalaherOccupation:Not Recorded
Sponsor 1 /
Informant 1:Francis Mccormick Sponsor 2 /
Informant 2:Margaret KellyAs you also probably have, I checked the RC registers (registers.nli.ie/) but they only start in 1838 in Edgeworthstown (assuming your line was from there also)
No Maliffs in the Tithe Applotments in Longford
Earliest Irish Census with Lonford records is 1841 but no Maliffs in that either.
Not much help to you I'm afraid Mary
