Dear all,

I'm trying to find out more on the ancestors who were all reportedly from Cloghprior, Tipperary. I've backed this up with DNA matches on myheritage with some of their descendents who moved to Australia. I'd like to find out if there are any further records of these people and if any of their families are still in the area/reachable today.

My direct ancestor Margaret Maley however emigrated to northern England:

Margaret Maley/Mely, DOB 1844 approx born in Cloghprior, Tipperary (carney parish apparently but i dont see this on your list).

Her mother was Johanna Sheahan, DOB 1818 - Spouse Thomas Maley (both emigrated to Australia).

Margaret married Michael McDonald, on UK census records as coming from County Mayo.

Thanks for any feedback you can provide. Hope to be able to connect with people Ireland who share the same ancestors

  • Hi DanP
Cloughprior comes under the Parish of Monsea. It's very hard on the eyes looking for names, I did search for Margaret 1844 but could not see her.

There is a tree in www.familysearch.org
Johann Sheehan and Thomas O'Malley.  All the dates are incorrect, they have Margaret b 1844 and her first child born 1845, I think the law would question that one!
What year did they go to Australia?
