Dia Dhuit! I am helping a friend, David Madden, research his family history. We believe that his ancestors came from County Galway, but don't now what parish they came from. Here's what we think we know, and would like to verify.
His GGGG grandfather was Hugh Madden, born circa 1780-1790, in Galway. His wife's name is unknown.
One of Hugh's children was named Patrick Madden (b. circa 1818 in Galway). He married Ellen Murray (b. circa 1819 in Galway). Ellen was the daughter of an unknown Murray who was married to Margaret Massey (b. circa 1795). Together, Patrick, Ellen, their four children, and his mother-in-law, Margaret Massey Murray, emigrated to Boston, Massachusetts, sometime after 1846 (?), but prior to 17 October 1849, when Patrick died of consumption, leaving Ellen a widow with four young children.
Patrick's four children were (1) Mary (b. 1837 in Galway - d. 1863 in Providence, Rhode Island, USA); (2) Jeremiah Andrew, my friend's GGGrandfather (b. 28 Jan (?) 1838 in Galway, and died in Somerville, Massachusetts 16 September 1893); (3) Ann (b. 1843 in Galway, d. unknown); and (4) John (b. 1846 in Galway and d. unknown date, likely in Massachusetts.)
Jeremiah Andrew Madden was a journeyman tailor. He married Margaret McCarty 6 Nov 1859 in Boston. Margaret was born circa 1838 in Ireland, and likely also in Galway. Margaret was the daughter of John McCarty and Mary Mahoney McCarty. Both John and were born circa 1800 in Ireland, and had immigrated at an unknown date.
The ensuing generations were all born in and around Massachusetts until the late 1900's, when some came to California.
I'm hoping that somebody might recognize the family. I don't want to have to search paarish by parish. I did find some Maddens that might be the family I seek around the town of Kiltormer, but it wasn'[t a precise match. Can anybody help us?
Many thanks in advance!

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I searched the subscription site Roots Ireland and did not find the marriage record or the baptismal records for the four children. Likely the Maddens were from a parish that no longer has records back to 1846 and earlier. Kiltormer has records starting in 1834 so if they were from that parish records would have shown up on Roots Ireland. The parishes to the east and west of Kiltormer (Mullagh and Clonfert) both have records starting later than the 1840s.
Sorry, I could not have been more helpful!
