My great grandfather William Curley indicated on his 1865 marriage certificate that his farther was a Peter Curley and he was from Galway. My DNA strongly points me to Galway. I have searched the Irish Parish registers on line for Galway, Mayo and Roscommon and can not find a Peter Curley having a son named William born about 1842. Any ideas in where to go next. William was living in Prescot England when he married Mary Collins. He immigrated to US in 1868.

Likely the Curleys were from a parish that does not have RC church records back to the early 1840s.

I looked at the 1855 Griffiths Valuation for Co. Galway and there were six Peter Curleys listed. Assuming your Peter Curley was living in 1855 and leasing land, he would likely be one of the six listed below. I looked at RC parishes for the six civil parishes below and Killoran (3rd record below) and Killannin (fifth record below) have RC parish records later than 1840 so I would focus on thos records first.
