I'd love to connect with anyone having ancestors named Gibbons, Gough, or Langan in Waterford. My great-great-grandfather John G. Gibbons is said to have been born in Killmacomb Crossroads in Waterford in 1820. He immigrated to the US and settled in Tennessee in the 1850s. He married Margaret Langan of Tipperary, and his parents may be John Gibbons and Margaret Gough. Any help would be appreciated!

Hello PB,
Thank you for your message.
If I'm not mistaken Kilmacomb is near Dunmore East. The Barony of Gaultier Historical Society (https://www.facebook.com/pages/category/Community-Organization/Barony-of-Gaultier-Historical-Society-467994273328525/) covers that part of the county. It might be worth contacting them. You could also contact Waterford County Museum: https://www.facebook.com/waterfordcountymuseum/.
Catholic parish registers can be browsed here - https://registers.nli.ie/ - or searched, along with Church of Ireland records, on the subscription site https://www.rootsireland.ie/.
Wishing you all the best with your search,
