My great grandmother, Mary J. Conroy, was born in Mayo c. 23 May 1854. Her mother's name was Anne Byrne. She arrived in Boston, MA in 1873. I have no other information about her family or where in Mayo she was born. I do have DNA matches with the name of Conroy whose family was from Ballandine, but I haven't been able to find a common ancestor in my family tree. I have looked in many databases and haven't found any more information. I would appreciate any assistance to identify any other family and my great grandmother's hometown. Thanks very much.

Records for that period are scarce. Do you have her marriage detail / Husbands name?. Emigrants ofter went to join / marry neighbours from home.

Her husband's name was Patrick Joseph Quigley. According to his naturalization papers, he immigrated to the U.S. in 1869 from Roscommon. He settled in the Boston area, and his naturalization was processed at the Springfield Court in Massachusetts in 1882. Census records indicate that they married around 1882. I haven't been able to find a marriage record. My grandmother was born in California in 1883. If they married in San Francisco in 1882, the records are lost because of the 1906 earthquake and fire.
