My grandfather was Cornelius Horgan . He was born, I was told, at the foot of Claramore outside Millstreet, Co. Cork in 1890. His parents were John Horgan and Nora Scully. This is as far as I can go back and when I visited Millstreet in 2003 I was told that most of the Horgans emigrated!! I did find a Horgan family and met Jeremiah Horgan who lived in Balydaly but haven’t found the link to that branch of Horgans!! If anyone can help I would appreciate it as I live in Australia and will not be back in the UK for a few years so unable to visit Ireland. Thank you. Helen Nash.

Helen,
Attached are the birth records for Cornelius and his brother Thomas and the marriage record for their parents. Given that his parents were married in 1870, and Cornelius was not born until 1890; there are probably more siblings than Thomas. Those can be found on the free site irishgenealogy.ie, but it will take some digging.
Regards,
Carolyn
