I noted an omission of the name Keegan from those listed in the number of Irish names in 1659.
In fact there were 25 Keegan listed in Ratcleene, Moydowe and Shrowell.
The last Brehon we are aware of was Patr Mac Aodhagan, Ballymakeegan, circa 1600. The Mac Aodhagain were Brehons to O'Fearghaile Buide over a couple of Centuries in the above named locations.

Thanks very much for this interesting information on the Keegans.
The table on this website only provided information on the 14 most popular surnames of householders recorded in the 1901 Census of County Longford.
The Donohoes were 14th on this list, with 76 householders recorded throughout County Longford at that time.
31 Keegan householders were recorded throughout County Longford in 1901, and therefore did not make this list, unfortunately.
