Looking for relatives of my Lambert/Lamport and Redmond family. My 4th great grandparents are William Lamport and Johanna (Joan) Redmond. Their children were Elizabeth Lamport May 15, 1772; James Lamport June 6, 1775; Patrick Lamport May 17, 1777; Mary Lamport May 8, 1781; William Lamport October 1, 1783; I believe there are other siblings but doubt any records exist after 1786 for this region.
William Jr. left Ireland in 1811 for Canada with his uncle Rev Bishop Patrick Lambert and cousin Rev Thomas Scallan (soon to be 3rd bishop of Newfoundland) during priest recruitment by Bishop Lambert for St. John's Newfoundland. Once in Canada, I believe William Jr. changed his surname to Lambert. I believe there is another brother of William Jr who left Wexford and settled near William in Beaver Co Pa, his name was Moses Lambert. In addition to the above priest, there is also a relation to a Rev Walter Lambert, C.ss.R whose father was Stephen Lambert and his mother Catherine Scallan who was a nephew of the above bishops. There is another parish priest of Bannow Fr. Stephen Lamport who is buried in Duncormick cemetery and was a great grand uncle of Bishop Patrick Lambert.
I know it's a great deal of information, but if you recognize these names or not please reach out.

Hello
I have no exact information about the Lambert clan. However I have come accross Aileen Lambert who lives in Ballindaggin Co Wexford who has done extensive research on emigration from Wexford to Newfoundland. Her husband Michael Fortune has produced a lovely book on the folklore of Wexford. Aileen has a Facebook page and I have her permission to mention her on this post. I am sure she will have come accross your Lambert family in her research. It is a lot easier when you have Ancestors who were prominent and well known!
Best of luck with your continued research.
