Hello I am looking for my ancestors by the name of Kildoyle, a name which apparently doesn't exist anymore in Ireland (only in the US). I was able to find several Kildoyles on ancestry.com in and around Portumna but I'm not sure if they are related. I assume they are but there is a missing link. My 4th great grandfather Denis Kildoyle came to New York around 1850. He was married in Kilbrittain in 1841 but before that I couldn't find any records of him. Hoping to connect him to the Portumna Kildoyles and any help would be appreciated!
Patrick Kildoyle (Albany, NY)
PS- I hired a DNA specialist who tracked my paternal DNA to the Longford area which is not far from portumna so it makes sense.

Patrick,
The only Denis Kildoyle which I have found on Subscription Site www.findmypast.ie is in Kilbrittain, County Cork. You have this record.
Attached is the record of a marriage in Portumna and a Petty Sessions complaint in Laurencetown.
The surname "Kildoyle" is recorded in County Westmeath in 1706 and in later years in County Offaly and Co.Tipperary which is across the river shannon from Portumna.

Patrick,
Subscription site www.rootsireland.ie has a transcript record of a John Denis Kildoyle and a Thomas Denis Kildoyle having been baptised in Portumna on December 17th 1858.
The church record has Thomas Denis Kildoyle with parents John Kildoyle and Julia Whelan.
The entry is on the left hand page, but faded!
This would indicate that there is a family member named "Denis" - possibly a grandfather.
