Hello
I am searching for any information on John White son of John & Hannah White .
He was aged 25 on his marriage certificate in 1865 which would make a DoB 1840-41 but on his death cert he was 82 in 1916 which would make his DoB 1834.
His family is likely to be Protestant
He emmigrated in 1862-3 to Australia to the gold fields and then went on to Otago and Southland , New Zealand.
Any information would be greatly appreciated .

The 1831 census for Co Londonderry has 6 households leased by a John White. They lived in Legorry, Edenmore, Killytowny, Tenaught, Curlarangh & Drumlamph. All were Presbyterian save for the Drumlamph family who were RC. (Presbyterian indicates Scottish ancestry, usually in the 1600s).
If you get no other leads you might get a researcher to go through the Presbyterian records for the above 5 townlands to see if your family features. The records are in PRONI. They are not on-line and so a personal visit is required to view them.
