Looking for information about John O'Brien and Ellen Kennedy who married in Co. Mayo in 1846. I believe Ellen died in Ireland in 1896. Their son, John James O'Brien, is said to have died in Chicago Illinois USA on 24 May 1930. Do I have any living relations these days? GRMA.

    I have made a number of searches on the subscription site Roots Ireland and did not locate the marriage record, the baptismal record for John James or a death record for Ellen O'Brien. I searched for all of Ireland for the marriage record and the baptismal record. I limited the death record search to Co. Mayo.

    Do you have any other infomation? Have you considered DNA testing?

  • Thanks, Roger. I will recheck my sources and make sure I am on the right track. Reegarding DNA testing, I have done both 23 and Me, and Ancestry, and posted to GEDMatch too. I haven't heard from any relatives living in Ireland yet. But I keep hoping.
