Hello
Big help needed
My Great grand parents John and Mary O'Brien nee Norris had ten children. I can find records for all of them apart from my grandmother Ellen O'Brien. I have found Michael 1890 Patrick 1892 Katie 1895 Johnnie 1897 Jimmy 1901 Billy 1903 Tommy 1907 Martin 1900 Hanora 1910. All in the Ballyshunnock Kilmacthomas area. I do know that Ellen went to London to have my father at St Joseph's home for unmarried mothers in Clapham May 1928 and they took girls aged 15 to 25.
I have the whole family apart from Ellen living in a house in the 1911 census so I am assuming my grandmother was born after this?
After my father died I found that he had a half brother John living 3 miles from us but he was not intersted so we did not keep in touch
If anyone has suggestions to help me get further I would be very grateful
Stay safe
Cheers

Shaun:
I think Hanora is Ellen. On the 1911 census, Mary Norris Brien indicated she had ten children but nine living in 1911. I went back and checked for baptismal/birth records and found ten as follows: Michael 1890 Patrick 1892 Catherine 1895 John 1897 Martin 1900 (he died at one month see record below) James 1901 William 1903 Thomas 1907 Martin 1909 Hanora 1910.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Roger
I have looked at Hanora and found her marriage details to Martin Power and a grave in Kilmacthomas to both of them and a daughter called Margaret. I have Margarets death registered in Dublin 11 April 1963 .
When we visited my relatives in ireland in 1995 nobody knew if my grandmother was still alive or not and Hanora died in 1980
We went to the church in Kilmacthomas where Hanora is buried but I do not know if the gravestone had been erected by then I will try to find out
I cannot find an entry for Hanora's death would you be able to help?
sorry to ramble on
Your help is very much appreciated
Cheers

Shaun:
The free site www.irishgenealogy.ie only has death records thru 1969 (1970 will be added soon). There is a 50 year rule for deaths for privacy reasons.
