I'm looking for help. I have finally traced my grandfather Ronald smith mcguire/mcquire. I have getting back to my 5th great grandparents. John and Bridget mcguire. They married in St Mary Haddington Road Dublin 1810. Their son Edward was born 26th March St michaels Dun-laoghaue Rothdown Dublin. I would love to be able to find where John was born is their any 1 with these names on ancestry.

  • Hi Beckmic,

I searched the baptismal records but could not find one for either John or Edward, sons of a John and Bridget McGuire, in Dublin. Of course, they may not have been baptised.

I also checked the marriage records for John and Bridget McGuire but could find no record of them marrying in Dublin in 1810 either! May I ask where you found that information? I found a record of John McGuire marrying Bridget McNally at Balbriggan in Co. Dublin in 1808, but the next closest marriage (date-wise) was a John McGuire and Bridget Ivers in Dublin in 1817.

    Best wishes,

    Hi

An addition to the above, the only information I could uncover is:

A John McGuire married a Bridget Winters on 16th October 1810 in Haddington Road Dublin.  No other information is given   ie addresses or witnesses.

    Good luck with your research

  • Hi thank you so much for checking. I have getting the I formation from family search. My great grandmother was sarah mcguire her dad John mcguire are both English born. His dad John mcguire was also born in England.

Edward mcguire this is what I found on him

26 March 1830 St. Michael's, Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown, Dublin, Ireland. But when I try to look more into his family as in family is what I found on family search.

I have only started the mcguires as was told my grandad Ronald Smith mcguire was a foundling or found in Ireland and brought back but he wasn't a foundling well he was on streets when he met my great grand father so to find as far as Sarah's grandad was amazing
