John Clancy, c1800-c1835, and Elizabeth Mary Ahearn, c1799-c1835, married in or near Waterford city in c1820. They had four children before they headed off to Rio de Janeiro, in about Sep 1827, to become "farmers." Of course, they whole "farmer" thing was a Colonel William Cotter hoax, and John ended up in the Brazilian army along with manyof the other males.
The four children, all born in or near Waterford city, County Waterford, Munster Province, Ireland, were:
A boy who died en route to Rio in 1827.
A girl who died in America before the 1830 Portland, ME, census.
Nancy Clancy, who was born on 04 Feb 1822.
Frances Ellen Clancy, who was born on 03 Feb 1825,
John Clancy was the youngest of 16 or 17 brothers in Ireland, which should make him much easier to find in or near Waterford, Ireland.
