My 2x Great Grandparents on maternal line. May have immigrated to New York, USA around 1836. James was born between 1813 and 1815, and Catherine born between 1815 and 1820. I am looking for birth and marriage records, (they were married in Ireland), as well as ancestors preceding them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland and did not locate the marriage record.
Finding the baptismal records for James and Catherine will be difficult. On Roots Ireland there were 29 James Power(s) baptismal records in Co.Waterford for the period 1813-1815 and 10 Catherine Keeffe baptismal records from 1815-1820. Without having the parents names, we can't confirm any of the records.
Have you considered DNA testing?

Thank you for that information Roger. I will check that our. Yes, I have done dna testing through My Heritage. I'm unsure about uploading it elsewhere...do you know if naming traditions were still being used during that time period?...maybe it would help narrow the search...? You have given me another avenue to investigate further. Thank you.
