Hi, I am looking for confirmation that I have the correct marriage between John HEHIR b1828 and Margaret MURPHY in Kilmihil. Two sons of this couple emigrated to Australia and Margaret MURPHY is the name given on the death certificate of one of the sons, John (bpt 1856) as being the mother. John came to Australia via the Dilharree in 1876. Other children were Thomas (came to Australia), Patrick and Bridget.
I have a Catholic marriage record from Ancestry 8 Jan 1855 at Drumclift between John HEHIR and Margaret HEHIR. Is there anywhere else I can look to prove this is the correct record.
I am also looking for Margaret's death, some time after the birth of her last child in 1867.
Thank you for any help.

Kay,
On the free site clarelibrary.ie. there are records for the births of their four children: John, 14 Jun 1856; Thomas, 21 Oct 1858; Patrick, 24 Mar 1861; and Bridget, 30 Jun 1867. Their mother is given as Margaret Murphy, not Hehir. The townland is Ahaga, Kilmihil. I could not locate a marriage record, but I think the one you found on 8 Jan 1855 in Drumclift is for another couple that both have the surname Hehir...unless, of course, there was an error made when recording the name. I checked the 1901/1911 census records for Ahaga...no Hehirs, but there are Murphys.
Regards,
Carolyn
